- Model: Build-Own-Operate (BOO), 12-year BESPA
- Bid floor: minimum 50 MW/100 MWh, maximum full 1,000 MW
- Operations: max 2 cycles/day; one full charge window 10am–4pm; no discharge 10am–2pm
- Tariff format: ₹/MW/month quoted in reverse auction
Projects interconnect at the ISTS — 400kV Fatehgarh substation in Rajasthan for ESS-2 — per CERC regulations and grid codes.
Context
The tender followed SECI's earlier 3 GWh technology-agnostic storage solicitation (won by pumped-hydro player Greenko) and preceded the VGF-supported 4,000 MWh program under the Union Government's viability gap funding scheme.
